Losing your child
Not having but wanting a child ...
INTERNATIONAL BEREAVED MOTHERS DAY
If you are feeling alone and isolated, please know that while nobody is you, others are empathising with your horrible and sad, heartbreaking loss.
We will be coming together on Saturday the 2nd of May in a studio we feel is the heartfelt right one to host our day. International Bereaved Mother’s Day has been given awareness and acknowledgement to Sunday 3rd of May, which is why our invite is the day before, allowing you to be with your family on the Sunday.
We are very acutely aware people don’t speak to you about your loss and skirt around awkwardly, not meaning to be evasive but so unsure and reliant upon you being the one to be strong and comfortable to hold the conversation after your tragic and unfair loss.
In bringing women and their partners and family together in a supportive and implicitly rewarding space, we hope you and your family will feel our love and encouragement for you to be open and offer your thoughts, share your grief and be reassured you can do this in like minded company more than any other time.
We will be offering support extending beyond our day where our intention is to invite you to be able to release, but to celebrate your child’s birth and to remember and find some light and hope in the day.
Special guest speakers, restorative yoga with compassionate massage, a beautiful soundscape meditation, journaling, offering circle of sharing, trauma releasing and every single body involved in the putting together of this day are personally invested, with profit going to Still Aware.
We have take-home retreat bags being individually designed and so much more to offer you on this retreat.

B.A (Psychology), B.H.Sc/B.App.Sc(Chiropractic) w Distinction, RYT 200 Yoga Teacher, Cert. Med. Hol. Couns (IMTTA), Dip Naturopathy
Dr. Sarah Jane is a Gentle Chiropractor, Yoga & Meditation Teacher and Holistic Counsellor based on Kooyong/Melbourne.
She takes a special interest in infertility, pregnancy/baby grief and loss, as well as ptsd and trauma associated with infertility, recurrent miscarriage and baby loss. Her purpose is to ensure that no one feels alone, seperate, isolated, broken, ashamed, misunderstood, judged or unsupported during these challenging and tumultuous times.
Dr Sarah Jane felt that the emotional support was missing when undergoing specialist visits and treatments, and felt that the mind and body were treated as separate. She wanted to ensure that there were resources out there for those going through heartache whilst on the journey to begin, add to or complete their family.
Through her own experience of recurrent pregnancy loss, as well as having her mother becoming suddenly comatose with an extremely rare brain disease (ADEM), she was facing the most challenging time of her life. Her hardest moment was losing her fourth pregnancy whilst sitting beside her mother in Intensive Care after being told to say “goodbye” from doctors. Miraculously, her mother made it against the odds, and is slowly improving each day despite her brain damage.
Enduring this, and recurrent 5 pregnancy/baby losses, Dr Sarah Jane has a passion for the grief process, and assisting healing in others going through their own battles. She does not promise to take the pain away or to have you simply move on. The grief and loss will change you forever. Dr Sarah Jane knows that the roots of grief are boundless but she will show you that we can move forward. Grief shows us that we loved, and this love shapes us to be even more beautiful than before.
